greenfest press release

Aurora GreenFest This Saturday, September 22nd

Rain or Shine

Aurora, IL – The Aurora GreenFest is coming this Saturday! Our wonderful exhibitors from our forest preserves, park districts, green businesses, green car owners, and local artists will all be at the Prisco Community Center and our beautiful McCullough Park to help us learn more about taking care of the earth.  The GreenFest always makes it fun to learn about the environment and sustainability.  The 2018 Aurora GreenFest will take place on Saturday, September 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Prisco Community Center and McCullough Park at 150 W. Illinois Ave. in Aurora. The Aurora GreenFest is a free event for the whole family.

For many years we have had beautiful weather for the GreenFest, but this year it might be a little damp.  The GreenFest will still go on!  Remember we have a huge space inside Prisco Community Center and we will do our best to bring our outside exhibitors inside.  Our rain plan is that the GreenFest will go on, come rain or come shine.  So please come and enjoy!

“This year’s GreenFest is going to be the best one ever,” said Mavis Bates, festival founder and organizer. “Now more than ever we need  to grow and nurture our local sustainability movement.  We love bringing our community together to celebrate our planet.”

Aurora GreenFest is put on by Aurora GreenLights, an independent community organization dedicated to spreading the word about sustainability and resilience in the Fox Valley.  We are an affiliate of The Conservation Foundation and are grateful for the generous support of the Dunham Fund.
